I just wrote about senator Mark Warner, the Virginia Democrat who denounced a classified memo detailing wrongdoing by the Obama FBI, DOJ and White House as inaccurate and as proving nothing only to then admit that he hadn't seen the memo in question. Pretty dumb, don't you think? Then two minutes later, I came across an article that discusses how Democrat House leader Nancy Pelosi is repeating her charge that the $1000 bonuses being given to nearly five million American workers as a result of the new tax law is nothing more than "crumbs". (That's five billion dollars of "crumbs", Nancy.) Former chair of the Democrat party, Debbie Wasserman Schultz then chimed in to say that $1000 really doesn't go very far. Now to be fair, Pelosi and her husband are worth more than $50 million, so she really may think of $1000 as petty cash. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is also extremely wealthy, so maybe she too thinks that $1000 bills are just things one uses to line the bottom of the bird cage. Nevertheless, it is hard to imagine better evidence that the Democrats are totally out of touch with the ordinary American working family than these comments. I doubt there are too many people across America who would pass up $1000 because it is such a small amount.
