We are now learning that president Obama is indeed in Kabul, Afghanistan. Obama will sign an agreement with the Afghan government and use the occassion to make a speech to the nation this evening. The earlier denials coming from the White House that Obama was in Kabul turned out to be lies told in the interest of national security.
All of this leads me to ask some salient questions:
1) How many other lies is Obama telling "in the interest of national security"? (We already know that Obama is an habitual liar; I am just wondering how many of the lies have a purpose other than trying to make Obama look good to the electorate.)
2) If it is such a secret that Obama has gone to Kabul, why did Afghan and Chinese reporters know about it in advance? Why did the White House go to such lengths to deny the story once it broke? Obviously, by the time the story hit the internet (as a headline on Drudge and elsewhere), it seems reasonable to assume that the Taliban knew all about it. Why issue lies about the trip if our enemies already knew the truth?
