Hasn't the Scientific Illiteracy of the Media Been Proven Already?

I just happened to hear a report on CBS News discussing the meetings about climate change taking place in Europe.  It's not worth going into detail about this.  It's enough for me to tell you that the reporter breathlessly told the audience that the pledges received so far from the USA, China, Japan and the European nations will keep the world temperature from rising more than 2.6 degrees Celsius.  That is perhaps the dumbest thing I've ever heard from CBS News (and that is really saying a lot).

First of all, one thing that even the strongest scientific advocate of the global warming theories would admit is that there is no quantifiable relationship between increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and the amount of warming to occur.  In other words, two million tons of additional carbon dioxide might have the tiniest of effects or a major effect; we just don't know for sure.  That means that for CBS to report the maximum temperature increase to a tenth of a degree is just nonsense.

Second, all of the models that form the basis for the global warming theory have been disproven by the actual temperature data recorded over the last twenty years.  There is no way to calculate a temperature increase based upon a failed theory.  What will CBS do next?  Maybe they can report on just how far west of California one must said before falling off the edge of the flat earth.

Why is it that garbage like this stuff is still on the news.  Many people who only half listen will think that all this nonsense is real.  It is not.
