Who Are America's Friends?

Which of the following countries are friends of the USA:  the United Kingdom, Ukraine, China, Russia, Iran, Germany, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil, Israel and Saudi Arabia?  Now consider which countries president Obama treats as friends.  We ought to start with China.  The Chinese just used their armed forces to hack US government computer systems so they could steal the personal information about every employee of the American government.  The Chinese want to use that information to help them steal American government secrets.  Obama surely must think of the Chinese as good friends because he has done and said nothing about this attack.  Then there's Iran.  The Iranians are supporting wars in Syria and Yemen.  They are subverting the independence of Iraq.  They are violating the agreements that underlie the current nuclear negotiations by producing huge amounts of enriched uranium, amounts much greater than they are allowed to produce.  Obama, however, must consider them friends too.  He has taken no action against them and, instead, has spoken about the justifications for their actions.  Well, what about Egypt?  In that country, the terrorist supporting Moslem Brotherhood was ousted from power by the military led by General Sisi (subsequently elected president Sisi).  President Sisi of Egypt has spoken out about the need for Islam to rid itself of the violent jihadist terrorists (who are America's opponents).  Egypt has used its military forces to attack ISIS groups operating in Libya.  For Obama, however, Egypt is not a friend.  Obama opposed the removal of the Moslem Brotherhood from power despite a clear popular uprising against it and its repressive policies.  Since that time, Obama has kept Egypt at arms length and treated it as a pariah.  Then there's Israel, the lone true democracy in the Middle East.  After decades of close Israeli-US cooperation, it has been clear that Israel is America's best friend in the region.  For Obama, however, that is not the case.  Obama never misses an opportunity to bash the Israelis.  He remains silent about their travails.  In the last week, terrorists in Gaza affiliated with ISIS have launched four missiles into Israel and Israel has responded.  Obama has remained silent; he can't even take sides in a dispute between America's friend and ISIS? 

America is stuck with a president who can't even distinguish between our friends and our enemies.  No wonder our foreign policy is so messed up.
