In a rather surprising move, Democrat senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio decided not to run for president in 2020. I say surprising because it seems that every other conceivable candidate is running, and Brown is one of the few who might actually have a chance for success. I read this decision as an admission by Brown that getting the Democrat nomination is unlikely to result in winning the presidency; President Trump will just be too hard to beat.
We may still see Brown on the ticket, but as vice president. The Democrats can ill afford to lose Ohio once again, and as of now they are behind in that state. The addition of Brown to the ticket might help though.
