Writing in the Washington Post, E.J.Dionne make a startling discovery about the seven candidates for the Republican presidential nomination who debated last night on CNN. Dionne points out that all seven candidates are .... are you ready for this ..... conservative! What a shock! this discovery may merit the Nobel Peace Prize (Hey, Obama got one for less.)
The funny thing is that Dionne concludes that Obama need not worry about these candidates because they are conservative. It makes one wonder just how much of a bubble Dionne lives in. Don't the Washington political crowd realize that the biggest group by far in American politics consists of conservatives? Can Dionne really think that liberals who are outnumbered in the country by conservatives by two to one are a shoo-in for victory?
The truth is that Dionne lives in an alternate universe. Fortunately for the USA, voting takes place in this universe.
