Treatment? Are they Kidding?

Well Weinergate just got messier, if that is possible. Those paragons of virtue Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Shultz and Steve Israels have all called upon Weiner to resign for the good of his family and of Congress. Isn't it amazing how these three, who kept saying it was up to Weiner to decide for hiself, now suddenly all decided to shift their views. Truthfully, having someone like Wasserman Shultz ask you to resign on ethical grounds is like having a turtle ask you to resign for going too slowly. She is one of the biggest demagogues in Congress, a woman who will say or do just about anything if it brings partisan advantage.

On another front, word is being spread that Weiner is going to enter a "treatment program". No one says what the treatment will be for. Are there centers for treating self inflicted political wounds? Is there rehab for people without a moral compass? Weiner does not need treatment. He is a sicko, but he is not sick. He is an arrogant man who believed that he could do anything because he was a Congressman. He thought that the rules of normal conduct did not apply to him. He needs education, not treatment. He needs to learn that he cannot act as if he is all powerful when that is not the case.

I think Weiner is scum and should resign. Indeed, the only thing that I can see that makes me sympathize in any way with Weiner is that Wasserman Shultz and Pelosi are now going for his scalp.
