Leading from behind the focus group

Perhaps the most outrageous news article yesterday was the report that on Thursday, the Obama Administration would announce that Bashir al Assad of Syria must go. That news was attributed to unnamed sources.

Let's translate that into English. The White House has put forth a trial balloon to see the reaction to the posibility that the USA would tell Assad to go. If the reaction is good, Obama will make his statement on Thursday. On the other hand, if there is significant push back against the statement, nothing will be said and yesterday's report will just be looked at as an error.

Every day, dozens of people are being killed in Syria by the Assad regime. The fight is not civil war; it is government tanks and snipers against unarmed protesters. It is just murder plain and simple. And the President of the United States does not have enough of a moral compass to come out and condemn Assad. Obama does not recognize evil; he only knows things that will help him politically and things that will hurt his re-election. why worry about dead Syrians when the statements made about them might shift thousands of votes in Michigan? Obama knows what his priorities are.

Obama has got to go. We need a leader who knows right from wrong and good from evil.
