Gingrich's ex wife

Tonight, ABC will show on Nightline an interview with Newt Gingrich's second wife. They got divorced in the 1990's and Newt married his current wife. Apparently, the former Mrs. Gingrich is not a big fan of Newt. We will have to see the interview, but everyone needs to keep in mind that this is the woman who Newt dumped 15 years ago or so. It is not hard to understand why she would be bitter. Indeed, I have to wonder how much of what she will say will even be true. Do not misunderstand me. She may be telling the absolute truth. I just have too much experience with folks who used to be married talking trash about their exes. I have heard everything from wives who falsely claimed their husbands beat them to men who claimed their wives constantly slept with others even to people who made false allegations of child abuse against their spouses. In other words, this is an area where we all need to be very careful before accepting the word of the ex-Mrs. Gingrich. Newt Gingrich deserves a chance to answer whatever his ex wife has to say. Even after that, we all need to remember the circumstances, namely the breakup of a marriage.
