In the last week, I have seen two different articles from Democrats that have explained that president Obama's election strategy is to depress the turnout of white voters in November. Obama is way behind among whites, so the fewer who vote, the smaller the margin that Romney can gain in this group. At the same time, I have also seen articles from other Democrats that lambaste the GOP for a supposed plan to use photo ID requirements to suppress minority turnout in November. This is denounced as heinous and racist and unamerican. Maybe someone can explain why suppressing the white vote is a good thing while suppressing the minority vote is not.
Let me hasten to add, that the photo ID laws do not suppress voter turnout. We have had the requirement here in Connecticut for nearly a decade with no effect whatsoever. Somehow, when our overwhelmingly Democrat legislature passed the measure in order to combat voter fraud, no one in the media said anything about it. Even so, the hypocrisy of the Democrats is amazing.
