Lying Liars who Lie

It seems strange that a phony ad from president Obama's side which asserted that Mitt Romney was responsible for the death of a woman was not enough to get the media to realize that the Obamacrats were habitual liars. After all, the ad showed a guy who worked for a steel company that was purchased by Bain Capital. He was laid off and lost his health insurance. Then his wife was diagnosed with cancer with no health insurance and she died. At least that is what the ad said. In truth, Bain bought the steel company in an attempt to save it from going under. Romney then left Bain to run the Salt Lake Olympics. Three years later, the steel company failed and the guy lost his job and insurance. His wife, however, still had her job and her insurance. She kept that job and insurance for another three years until she was injured and stopped working. Apparently, the injury was enough for her to stop working, but not enough for her to go on Social Security and Medicare disability. (Of course, no one has explained why she did not get disability from the government.) Then, three years later, she thought she had pneumonia and went to the hospital for an xray. The doctors found she had late stage cancer that was too far gone for treatment. She died three weeks later. Think about it: this woman dies nearly a decade after Romney left Bain Capital. She died because she had undiscovered late stage cancer, not because she had no health insurance. Indeed, even without the insurance, she received the treatment which discovered the cancer. But the Obama PAC is running a commercial that blames Romney for her death. And this was not enough for the main stream media to label the Obama campaign liars.

The media then asked the Obama campaign for comment on this ad. Stephanie Cutter, the deputy campaign manager refused even to denounce the ad as false. Instead, she just said that the campaign had no knowledge of the facts concerning this poor woman's death. Then, today it comes out that in May, Stephanie Cutter herself had put this same man on an Obama campaign conference call to tell the same story blaming Romney for his wife's death. Obviously, Cutter knew full well about this guy's story; she had presented it to the press herself just three months ago. In other words, the Obamacrats were lying and they have been shown to be lying.

Will the main stream media tell its readers about the Obamacrat campaign lying to cover up knowledge of a campaign commercial that itself is lying? Let's wait and see. My guess is that we will see some stories that lay out this tale of woe, but the MSM will add some bit about how the Romney campaign lies too.

UPDATE: I just surveyed some of the media. Fox News has a detailed story about the lies from the Obama campaign and from the president himself. (Obama attacked the Romney-supporting PACs for "going wild" without mentioning that it was his own PAC that was running lies.) CNN reported all the details of the story, but never pointed out that the Obamacrats were lying. CBS never even mentioned the story. NBC not only was silent on the story, but it ran a story discussing how misleading the Romney ad on welfare reform is (which it is not.)
