More Lies from Obama

Many people were wondering just how president Obama was going to respond to the broadside from Romney and the GOP explaining to America that Obama cut over $700 billion dollars from Medicare in order to pay for Obamacare. Indeed, Obama is the one who has done the most to make it unlikely that Medicare can survive. Well, today we got our answer: Obama is going to lie. Given Obama's general habit of lying, no one should be too surprised at the outcome.

First the lie: Campaigning today, Obama claimed that it was not true that Obamacare took money from Medicare. Indeed, according to Obama, the changes made to Medicare just cut waste and fraud and the extend the life of Medicare by ten years. Gimme a break! Under the Obamacare statute, payments to Medicare providers are cut substantially. The "savings" from these cuts are then taken and used to fund insurance coverage under Medicaid for those without policies. Obama even threatened that he would veto any effort by Congress to avoid these cuts to providers in the future. In simple terms, cuts to providers mean that many fewer doctors will agree to see Medicare patients. Estimates from non-partisan experts are that about 30% of all doctors in the country will come to refuse Medicare patients as a result of these Obamacare cuts. Since more than a quarter of all doctors already do not accept Medicare patients, the Obamacare cuts to Medicare mean that well over a half of all doctors will no longer see seniors. This will lead to a catastrophic decline in the quality of care for seniors and also to a huge increase in the waiting time to see a doctor. If you have serious pain, you just may have to wait a month to see the doctor because of the cuts from Obamacare.

It is incredible that Obama would just fall back to telling lies with regard to Medicare. Did he really think that no one would ever point this out? The wonks have been discussing the Obamacare evisceration of Medicare for years. It amazes me that the Obamacrats have no answer to this huge problem other than to deny that it exists.

If there ever had to be any proof that Obama and his group are out of ideas, this is it. They have no plan to save Medicare. They cannot even deal with the damage that they themselves have done to that program. All they can do is lie about whether or not the damage exists. And, all the while, the loss of medical services for seniors is getting closer and closer because of the 700 billion dollars that Obama stole from Medicare to pay for Obamacare.
