We had a major storm here in Connecticut last night. About ten percent of the homes in my town lost power, but by morning only a few were still without electricity. Then, just as the morning was getting started, a tree that had been weakened in the storm finally gave way and fell on the main power line into town. Suddenly 30,000 customers were without power. Initial word was that the power would be out until late this evening. Of course, since the initial word never seems to be proven correct, the power came back on around 2:30 this afternoon. It was nice to get the air conditioner back on in the midst of the latest heat wave.
