Hillary Clinton has had nothing to say about the millions upon millions of dollars in cash that she and Bill collected through speaking fees and "contributions" to the Clinton Foundation from undisclosed foreign sources with business in front of the State Department while she was secretary of state. In fact, since Hillary announced her candidacy for president about a month ago, she hasn't even given an interview to anyone from the media, let alone held a press conference. Hillary did speak prior to her announcement about her use of a private email system rather than the government's secure system while she was in office. Her explanation, given in a bizarre briefing at the UN, included Hillary's claim that she followed all the rules with regard to her email. That claim of compliance has been repeated by the Hillary defenders as they have tried to turn the story into an attack on those who are raising questions about Hillary's shady conduct. Yesterday, that excuse suffered a mortal blow. It is not done, over and gone.
Specifically, yesterday, the undersecretary of state for administration, Joyce Barr, testified before Congress that Hillary Clinton's email system was "not acceptable" and that it did not comply with the laws and regulations that govern employees of the State Department. The testimony received little coverage, but we now have the woman in charge of all those rules governing email telling us that Hillary's claim of compliance is wrong. This representative of the Obama administration is basically calling Hillary Clinton a liar. Of course, the undersecretary would never use that word for her fellow Democrat, but that is what she said albeit, in nicer language.
When even the Obama administration is calling out Mrs. Clinton as a liar, it becomes hard to see how Hillary's defenders will be able to handle the problem.
