Why Is Nothing Done?

In the Iraqi town of Tal Afar yesterday, ISIS slaughtered 600 Yazidi men.  According to reports, the Yazidis were shot and their bodies thrown into a large pit that had been dug as a grave by the Yazidis prior to their slaughter.  This sort of crime gets essentially no coverage by the world media.  The lack of coverage, however, does not make this something that ought to be ignored.

In Paris yesterday, two people were attacked by a mob of about 40 people.  The only reason for the attack was that the two victims were Jews.  The attackers were supporters of a group called Gaza Firm according to reports.  There is no coverage of this story in the media.

Around the US yesterday, there were violent protests after the announcement that six police officers in Baltimore were being indicted for crimes in connection with the death of a man in their custody.  The protests were not in support of the police; instead, the protesters were supposedly angry about the death of the prisoner.  It was as if the protesters were ready for violence after the police were not charged, and when the charges were placed, the violence went ahead anyway.  The media went crazy covering this stuff.

Clearly, of these three events, the genocide by ISIS against the Yazidis deserves the most attention.  It may be happening in Iraq rather than in the USA, but the crime involved is so heinous and the organization ISIS is so evil that attention must be paid or the cancer will continue to spread.

I can understand why the media focuses on Baltimore.  I cannot understand why they choose to ignore the other two stories.  Even more important, there is no reason why the US government is ignoring the genocide in Iraq by ISIS.
