I just saw this headline on ... well, it really doesn't matter where I saw it. Here's the headline:
Santorum, Pataki, Graham and Perry Set to Jump In
If there ever was a headline that sounds more like the punchline to a joke than this one, I have never seen it. Here's four guys who collectively have zero chance of ever being president jumping into the GOP race. Why are they doing it? George Pataki wouldn't even be recognized by most people in New York, and he was a three term lackluster governor there. Why is he running? Rick Perry managed in his short effort in 2012 to convince most voters that he is a moron. What's changed there? Rick Santorum was notable in 2012 because he managed to last the longest against Mitt Romney. But Santorum in 2016? Really? Then there's Lindsay Graham who always seems to be playing the loyal sidekick roll for John McCain. Who in his right mind would vote for Lindsay?
There seems to be no reason for these guys to jump in only so that they can get crushed in the first few state contests. It's actually rather sad.
