Pollsters Doug Shoen and Pat Caddell, both Democrats, have a column out today in which they argue that to be truly transformative, Obama should spend the next two years governing from the center to solve the country's problems and, at the same time, give up any plans for re-election. The removal of the demands of the campaign is supposed to allow for Obama to really do the right thing.
I think I have a better idea. to be truly transformative, Obama should wait until January and then both he and Biden should resign. that would make John Boehner president. After all, the view of the people was clear in the elections and it was not for more of the same. If Obama thinks that his views are still the ones that should lead the country, then he can devote himself to running for president again over the next two years. We all know that Obama is better at running for president than actually governing.
