Earlier today, I wrote about how the House GOP acceded to the demads by President Obama and the Democrats for a vote on a clean bill to raise the debt ceiling. That measure was defeated by more than 3 to 1 with half of the Democrats even voting against it. Then, earlier today, Obama met with the House Republicans at the White House. How does Reuters spin it? According to Reuters, the GOP had the meeting,"a day after they defeated their own bill to raise the debt limit". According to Reuters, the "clean" bill is now a Republican position that got defeated.
I realize that the Reuters reporters may not be the brightest bulbs in the chandelier, but this article is beyond stupidity even for Reuters. I have to assume that the wording is intentional. I guess that Reuters cannot stand the thought of writing the words "Obama loses", even when it is the truth!
