Since the issue of Mitt Romney's tax returns came up in the last debate, the liberal media has been going to town on a new attack line against him. Romney is rich! Even worse, Romney pays taxes which may cause him problems. The New York Times has a front page headline today about how Romney's wealth is a problem for him. Remember all those articles in the Times in 2004 about how John Kerry's wealth was a problem? Of course not. Remember the articles in the Times about how Nancy Pelosi's wealth is a problem? There weren't any of those either. Indeed, when it came out that Nancy Pelosi made a huge profit trading in the stock market after she arranged for protection for a particular credit card company, the Times did not much cover that either. but Romney is rich! OOOOOOh my! Maybe the problem is that Romney made his own money and he did it totally legally. He did not marry money like Kerry. He did not inherit megamillions made in bootlegging like the Kennedy family. romney actually worked to earn his money. No wonder the Times thinks it is a problem.
Then there is ABC. It is running an expose that reveals that Romney may have accounts in the Cayman Islands. romney must be a tax cheat, right? Well, if you read the ABC story, you find in the last two paragraphs of the lengthy article that Romney does not get any tax benefit from having the funds in banks in the Cayman Islands and that Romney pays all American taxes on these funds. So what is the news? Romney is not only rich, but he has accounts in the Cayman Islands. That must be bad, right?
The truth is that this is a smear campaign being orchestrated by the Obamacrats. People better recognize it for what it truly is.

My opinion is it is smear, however, If Romney really wants to succeed in becoming President, Now is the time to answer all the potential smear issues, not in the Fall.
Since Perry is exiting the race & possibly endorsing Gingrich, Romney better make his answers & disclosures very clear.
Disclosure: I live in Florida & will vote for Newt!
