Are They Kidding? USA sues Lance Armstrong?

It may seem impossible to believe, but there is a news story that the federal government is going to sue Lance Armstrong for using performance enhancing drugs during his days of competing in the Tour de France.  This is not a criminal prosecution; the government is joining a civil suit.  According to the government Armstrong was named part of the U.S.Postal Service team, and his blood doping was fraudulent since he said that he did not follow the practice.

Are they kidding?  Why the hell was the U.S. Postal Service sponsoring a cycling team?  Were they developing new methods to slow down mail delivery?  How does a race in France have anything to do with the post office?  Why are federal dollars going for this nonsense?

Beyond that, how was the postal service damaged if Armstrong used blood doping?  They must be kidding.

The next time that someone tells you about all the problems that will be caused by sequestration, just remind them that the federal government spent $30 million to sponsor a team in the Tour de France.  If they are forced to cut out the Tour de France team sponsorship, the world may never recover.  Really!
