More Menendez

Yet another damning morsel about New Jersey Democrat senator Robert Menedez:

Yesterday, Menendez himself addressed the charges that he had sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic on multiple occasions.  He said that the charges were “unsubstantiated”.  That is Menendez' word, not mine.  He said "unsubstantiated."  A friend of mine who has been a trial attorney dealing with witnesses for decades emailed me to say that the word choice struck him as "telling".  As my friend said, no innocent person would ever respond to a false allegation by saying it is “unsubstantiated”.  An innocent person would say that the charges were false, untrue or phony, but not unsubstantiated.  Remember "unsubstantiated does not mean untrue, just unproven.  So Menendez gets accused paying young girls to have sex with him and his response is that there is not enough evidence to prove the charges.

I repeat my prediction:  Menendez will resign in the near future.
