Snow Way!

In the last 24 hours, the weather forecast has been changing almost hourly.  Just yesterday, the forecast said that we would have rain likely changing to snow from Friday into Saturday.  There were supposed to be total accumulations of about 4 inches around my town.  This morning, that forecast had morphed into a possible 6-12 inches of accumulation.  Now, after some interim steps, the forecast is up to 20 inches of wet snow in a blizzard with storm surges on Long Island Sound of almost 9 feet together with strong winds.  In one day we went from a minor snow storm to a frozen version of hurricane Sandy.

I actually have been pleased to see all the terrible forecasts.  The record of the meteorologists has been so poor over the years when it comes to snow around here, that I figure the worse the forecasts get, the more likely we are to just have rain.

One thing is certain:  it is going to be an exciting weekend.
