Another company that makes solar panels has gone into bankruptcy. This time it is Suntech Power Holdings Ltd., a Chinese company that was one of the largest makers of solar panels in the world. In the last three years, nearly the entire solar panel industry has gone under. Just think what this tells us.
The simple truth is that solar power cannot compete with energy from fossil fuels. Remember, across the world there are countless incentives being offered by all sorts of governments to promote "green" energy like solar power. In some places, utilities are mandated to buy the output from solar and wind power even though it costs more than power obtained from more conventional sources. In many places, the solar power companies pay no taxes. In still others, these companies get major subsidies from the governments so that they can "thrive". Well, in the face of all these goodies being given to the green energy group, these companies still continue to go under over and over. At some time the subsidies will end. At that point, the entire industry will just disappear.
