Worth Repeating

I was just listening to talk radio in my car as I was driving back from a lunch appointment, and I heard a caller make a point that I think is worth repeating.

President Obama and the Democrats tell us repeatedly that they have already cut the federal deficit by over two and a half trillion dollars.  That was all fine.  Now, however, that sequestration will reduce spending for the current fiscal year by another $44 billion, these same people are telling us that the end of the world is near.

To put this into proper perspective, for each hundred dollars of prior cuts claimed by Obama and the Obamacrats, the sequester adds another $1.76 in further cuts.  It is this extra $1.76 that we are told will send the USA over the cliff to disaster.

The funny thing, of course, is that the Democrats claim credit for any previous spending cut that does not involve the military.  All of the other cuts were put in place over the strenuous objections of the Democrats.
