Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota is expected to announce tomorrow that he is retiring according to a report on Politico. That puts yet another seat in the senate up for grabs. Indeed, since Romney carried South Dakota by just under 20%, it seems that the GOP candidate for the open senate seat ought to be considered the favorite. Interestingly, the leading Democrat at the moment for the seat is the son of Senator Johnson. I wonder how the voters in South Dakota will feel about that.
