Why is This News?

I have to say that I find it surprising that the media is excitedly reporting that during her speech to CPAC, Sarah Palin said that president Obama had lied about having a transparent adminstration.  How could anyone think it newsworthy that someone had called Obama a liar.  It is so obvious that it is the equivalent of a story about how another speaker called Obama a human being.

Think about it.  Working backwards, we know:

1)  Obama said on national television that the White House had nothing to do with stopping White House tours.  Less than four hours later, White House spokesman Jay Carney had to admit that the statement was not true.

2)  Obama told America over and over for three weeks that the sequester would result in horrible problems once it went into effect on March 1; it was like the end of the world was coming.  On March 1, Obama not only said that there would be no cataclysm, he criticized those who had been predicting one.  In other words, he told another lie.

3)  Obama told America that the sequester was a Republican idea.  When he was called on this by a whole host of people including Bob Woodward, Obama had to admit that he was wrong since the idea had been his.  Lie number 3!

4)  Obama told the nation over and over for years that he was interested in hearing the ideas of Republicans, particularly on the budget.  Interestingly, this week when Obama had lunch with Paul Ryan, the chair of the House Budget committee, it was the first time that the two men had ever spoken in private.

5)  Obama made a deal on tax increases around New Years Eve.  He settled on raising certain taxes to supposedly end the battle over taxes.  Within two weeks, Obama was back asking for tax increases again.

6)  Going back to some of the old favorites, Obama told us all that Obamacare would reduce healthcare premiums by about $2500 per family.  It now seems clear that Obamacare will increase premiums by much more than that.

7)  "If you like your doctor or your policy, you can keep them."  That lie was one of Obama's greatest.

8)  The Benghazi attack was the result of a youtube video, not a terror attack; at least that is what Obama said.  Then he said we weren't sure if it was a terror attack.  We now know that before the attack was even over, the White House had conclusive proof that this was a terror attack and that the video had nothing to do with it.

I am not going further with this effort.  The point is that Obama is a pathological liar.  I doubt that he even can recognize the truth anymore.  So it is no big deal if Sarah Palin points out just one lie out of the numerous choices.
