69 - 53 - 41

What are these three numbers?

69 - 53 - 41

No, they're not my locker combination in high school.  Actually what they are is the numbers of delegates won by the top three GOP candidates in the five contests this past weekend.

Cruz won 69; Trump won 53; and Rubio won 41.

Think about that and then think about the media coverage.  According to the media, Rubio collapsed and Trump continued on his march to the nomination.  But Trump was outscored by Cruz, and Rubio came pretty close to Trump in delegate totals.

The truth is that the race is far from over.  This week, there will be four more contests.  The big one is Michigan where Trump is favored.  There are also contests in Idaho, Hawaii and Mississippi though.  Cruz is likely to do quite well in Idaho, and Rubio may take Hawaii.  Mississippi looks to be close.  Of course, all those predictions could be easily scrambled by events.

So I repeat:  The race is far from over.
