Dr. Ben Carson is skipping the GOP debate on Thursday, and he will address the future of his campaign on Friday in DC. Translation: no matter how he puts it, Carson is suspending his campaign.
It's important to acknowledge that Dr. Carson is an inherently decent man. He never got into the nasty battles the engulfed many of his rivals. He never lost his thoughtful and positive attitude. He might have made a good president; he was just not a great presidential candidate.
Carson is also clearly a brilliant man. His career in medicine amply demonstrates that.
Hopefully, whichever GOP candidate gets the nomination, he will bring Dr. Carson onto his team. Carson had perhaps the most interesting plan for replacing Obamacare. It would be sad to see that plan ignored when it hold such promise.
