The Million Moron March

Since Mitt Romney made his anti-Trump speech, there's been a group of pundits announcing how they could not support Donald Trump were he to chosen as the GOP nominee.  These geniuses add that they would not support Hillary Clinton either but would organize a third Conservative party so as to remain ideologically pure.  I've come up with a good name for this Conservative party.  Let's call it the "Million Moron March".  After all, it would be organized by perhaps the biggest idiots imaginable.

Think about it.  Who would benefit most from a third party of this sort?  Without a doubt, the answer is Hillary Clinton.  The third party would siphon off enough votes from the GOP candidate (Trump) to guarantee that Hillary would win.  Even a third party that got only 5% of the vote could swing the election to Hillary, and in a close election it wouldn't even require that many votes.  In 2000, Ralph Nader ran as a third party candidate and he got enough votes to swing Florida (and the election) to George W. Bush.  So the numbskulls calling for a third party are just doing the work of electing Hillary Clinton.  And that's the problem.  Hillary Clinton is just Barack Obama in a dress.  She applauds Obama's policies and wants to continue them.  For example, she finally released her economic program and, instead of promoting economic growth and prosperity, she wants to impose new burdens on business which will further slow the growth of the economy.  We've all seen her total incompetence when it comes to foreign policy.  She touts her experience, but that's crazy.  She was a disaster as Secretary of State.  Pointing out Hillary's foreign policy experience is the rough equivalent of applying for car insurance and proudly telling the insurance agent how in twenty years of driving you've had 48 accidents, so you have more experience than most in dealing with insurance companies.

The real truth is that the people calling for a third party are more concerned with being able to control the Republicans in Washington than with doing what is best for the American people.  Clearly, a Trump presidency would not be perfect.  Neither would a Cruz or Rubio or Romney presidency for that matter.  We've never had a perfect president.  Even our sainted leaders like Lincoln and Washington made mistakes.  We all know that Reagan and Roosevelt made big mistakes.  The real point is that a Trump presidency would be far, far better than putting Hillary Clinton in charge.  America's strength comes to a great extent from our economy, and Trump's plans would restore the strength of that economy while Hillary would further damage it.  Hillary also comes with all the rest of the liberal baggage that has done so much to undermine the USA.  Four more years of that could permanently damage America in ways that cannot be undone in the future.

It's time for the self-important fools in the punditry to stop promoting nonsense like their third party.  They need to think of the country instead of themselves.  We don't need the Million Moron March.
