Here is the first paragraph from an AP article about vice president Biden's campaign speech this morning in Ohio:
Vice President Joe Biden is stepping up attacks on Republicans as the party of "privilege" and defenders of an economy that is "rigged" against the middle class, while casting President Barack Obama as a champion of "the workers."
It is hard to imagine Team Obama taking this tack at this early point in the campaign. The economy is "rigged" against the middle class? Really? Well who has been in charge for the last three and a half years? John McCain? Indeed, if the economy is "rigged", why didn't Obama do something about that during the first two years of his administration when he could have gotten anything passed through Congress? Obama took no action during that time to stop the "rigged" nature of the economy. He did laddle taxpayers' cash out in copious amounts to his campaign supporters; these "investments" were more rigged than anything else. Obama spent billions on "green" jobs that no longer exist; all that is left are the fortunes that the Obama bundlers skimmed off the top in salaries and bonuses.
The American people are not stupid, despite what Obama and the Obamacrats think. They will easily understand that the GOP cannot be "rigging" the economy when the Democrats control the levers of power. It seems a major mistake for the Obamacrats to be putting out such a phony argument when there will be plenty of time to refute it.
