The New York Post is reporting that at the meeting over the weekend between president Obama and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama offered to supply Israel with "advanced weaponry -- including bunker-busting bombs and refueling planes -- in exchange for Israel's agreement not to attack Iranian nuclear sites." And how long must Israel wait to get these weapons (at US taxpayer expense)? According to the Post, "Under the proposed deal, Israel would not attack Iran until 2013, after US elections in November this year."
There you have it! Obama is offering weapons paid for by American taxpayers to Israel, so long as the Israelis agree not to attack Iran until after the election in November. This is so wrong, I do not know where to begin. First, Obama actually thinks that he can bribe the Israelis to commit suicide. How dumb does he think they are. Second, Obama wants to use billions of dollars of government money to pay off a foreign country to aid in his re-election. If that is not a crime, it should be. What's next? Will Obama promise to send each person who votes for him a $1000 check from the federal government? Third, this interaction shows that Obama's priority is his own office, not the well being of America. Nothing much happens if Israel waits until after the election to attack, except that Obama avoids any risk to his re-election that might arise out of a war between Iran and Israel.

The key is that Bush would not have done this. Sure, presidents use foreign aid (including weapons) to spur other countries to do what the USA wants. In the past, however, those efforts were to have the other countries do things that would be good for the USA. There is no instance where presidents in the past used foreign aid to get other countries to help in a re-election bid. Obama is shameless.
