Taking the Absurd and Making It Even More Ridiculous

I have written many times about the absurd contention by Obama and the Obamacrats that laws requiring a photo ID are designed to suppress minority voters. Connecticut has such a law, but it is never criticized since it was put in place by Democrats. The concept of requiring photo ID at the polls was the result of a federal commission in 2005 which was co-chaired by Jimmy Carter and James Baker, either hardly a racist or interested in voter suppression. No, the photo ID meme is simply another phony effort by Obama and the Obamacrats to paint Republicans as anti-black or anti-Hispanic. Now, however, they have taken it too far.

At the latest meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, that body is investigating whether or not these photo ID laws are disenfranchising minority voters. Indeed, the NAACP is testifying to that effect before UNHRC. Just think, UNHRC has members including Cuba which has not had a free election in the last 50 years. It also includes China which also has not held a free election in that time. Other states on the council do not allow women to vote. This is who will "determine" if the photo ID laws suppress minority voting.

It greatly offends me that a bunch of despots and one-party-dictatorships will use this Obamacrat nonsense to embarrass the USA. Most folks in America recognize the nonsense of the photo ID charges, but people around the world are not so familiar with conditions in America. There are many who may hear about these charges and actually believe that they are true. It is a great way for the anti-democracy forces around the world to stick their fingers in the eye of the USA.

The sad thing is that Obama clearly does not care about this. He sits back while his minions stir this pot with absurd domestic charges. Just the other day, the Justice Department challenged the Texas photo ID law, even though no voter wishing to complain about the law could even get into the Justice Department offices since they require photo ID as a condition to entry. That may be a waste of government resources, but it is hardly the first (or last) resources that Obama will waste. The UN stuff, however, is much worse. Obama is actually letting the reputation of the USA get besmirched in order to help his re-election campaign. Obama should be ashamed.
