The answer seems to getting clearer as to whether or not there was a shift in voter support for president Obama. New evidence shows that answer to be "yes". ABC News released a poll today that has Romney leading Obama by 2% in a national poll. Santorum is behind Obama by 3% in the same poll. These figures line up pretty closely to the results being announced for the same matchups by Rasmussen. Rasmussen polls likely voters who are more likely to vote for the GOP while ABC polls registered voters; as a result, the ABC results show a small shift in favor of Obama. Nevertheless, these new ABC results indicate that in the last two weeks there has been a strong shift against Obama and in favor of the REpublican candidates.
If you had been reading the main stream media during those two weeks, you would have heard that the Republican campaigns were falling apart. You also would have heard that Rush Limbaugh spoke for the entire GOP when he criticized Sandra Fluke regarding health coverage for birth control pills. The theme of the coverage was "Democrats triumphant". Except for one problem: the voters do not agree. Indeed, it seems that Obama's lack of a response to the high gasoline prices except for saying "It wasn't me" and Obama's hypocrisy regarding Bill Maher's contribution to his super PAC have hurt Obama with the voting public.
Things will surely change many times between now and November, so the current polls are not that important. What is critical, however, is to recognize that no matter what storyline the main stream media tries to feed the public, Americans will decide for themselves. Americans now recognize the media for the Obama cheerleaders that they are.
