An Alternate Universe

One theory of modern science is that there are an infinite number of alternate universes. There is no need to explain the theory here; the only point that needs be made is that until now, there has never been proof of the existence of any universe other than our own. That has been true, at least, until now. Indeed, we now know the gateway to that alternate universe. It is the cable network MSNBC. Let me explain: listening to MSNBC, one would come to the conclusion that events that have happened are not those from our reality. The people on that network talk about events that must be happening in an alternate universe. Here are some examples:

1) Nearly every show on MSNBC has pushed the idea that when Mitt Romney and the Republicans mention president Obama's recent order removing the work requirement from welfare, it is racist. Romney does not mention race at all, but, according to MSNBC's self proclaimed experts the subject of welfare is racist.

2) A criticism of Obama's penchant for playing golf at every available opportunity is also racist according to these same MSNBC folks. Again, there is no mention of race, but a discussion of golf is actually an attempt to tie Obama to Tiger Woods and his promiscuous life. Since Tiger, like Obama, is of mixed race, this must be racist according to these beings from the other universe. The failure to mention race or Tiger Woods does not matter to them.

3) Criticism of the removal by Obamacare of $716 billion from the Medicare trust fund is unfair according to these MSNBC folks. Romney's plan for Medicare does not make this reduction, but the original Ryan budget did try for savings in Medicare which then were kept in the Medicare trust fund to extend the life of the program. According to the MSNBC geniuses, this disqualifies the GOP from complaining about what Obama actually did to gut the Medicare program. I assume that next week we will hear that all this is racist.

4) Yesterday, the MSNBC folks lamented the fact that Obama has not played the race card and told him that it is time to do just that. I guess when Obama jumped in to criticize the Cambridge police for arresting Skip Gates because he was black, that had nothing to do with race. Maybe when the Obama Justice Department vacated the court ruling against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Philadelphia because the victims were white rather than black, that had nothing to do with race. Maybe Obama's order not to enforce the immigration laws against young Hispanics was totally devoid of racial content. Or could it be that the non-stop attacks from the Obama campaign staff making phony claims against Romney and the GOP as racists actually had nothing to do with race. The truth is that we have seen four years of Obama playing the race card. Indeed, even before he was nominated in 2008, he was playing the race card against the Clintons. But in the alternate universe of MSNBC, no one seems to have noticed.

Since we now have proof of an alternate universe and since it all pertains to Obama, we may soon see Obama win another Nobel Prize. This time it will be the one for physics.
