Improbable But True

Here are some words that I never expected to write: I agree with Margaret Carlson. For those of you who have never heard of Ms. Carlson, she is one of the reliably liberal pundits whose columns adorn the op-ed pages of many of the second tier of the liberal press. In her latest column, she laments the fact that the Democrats omitted language from their platform that had been in place for decades. The omitted language is this: “Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare”.

This omission is an indicator that the Democrats have been taken over by the far left. It was that controlling group that dropped references to God from the platform. It was that same group that withdrew language confirming that Jerusalem is the capital of Isreal. It was that same group that dropped language that called on Hamas to renounce terrorism before it could join negotiations. Finally, it is this group that could not stand to call for abortion to be rare.

It is sad, but revealing to learn that the Democrats are so rabidly in support of abortion that they cannot even allow their platform to discourage its use.
