Today in Charlotte, the Democrat Convention gets underway. The platform is to be approved in a vote as one of the first orders of business. I reviewed that document to see what the Democrats propose as their method for promoting increased growth in the economy. The answer is simple: they want to raise taxes on those reporting over $200,000 in earnings. This is just nuts! Because most small businesses report their taxes through the individual returns of their owners, this tax increase will hit a big portion of those businesses across America. In other words, the very enterprises that create the most jobs in the country will see their taxes raised by about 15% starting in January under the Obama plan. The result will be fewer new jobs and slower growth of the economy.
Given this platform, I looked to see if the Democrats had a provision about the Olympics. I figured they had a plan to kick each athlete in the shins five times before allowing them to compete. It would make about as much sense as their economic program.
