Another Day, Another Lie

Two articles highlighted on the Drudge Report today show yet another lie coming from president Obama. The first piece details White House commentary that claims "cooperation with Israel has never been closer." The White House is also quoted as saying: "Assistance provided to Israel by the United States has never been greater than it has been under President [Barack] Obama." The second article comes from Time magazine, an outlet that is normally known for its support of Obama. It details how the USA has drastically scaled back the scheduled joint American/Israeli exercises that were scheduled for next month. Even more important, the article explains that Obama has directed US forces not to bring American missile defense forces into the area as had been planned. Even access to the American long range radar system that Israel allows the US to keep in the southern part of that country is now denied to Israelis. This means that the warning time that Israel would get for an Iranian missile attack is five or six minutes less than it would be with access to the radar system. It also means that Israel must rely only on its own forces and systems to shoot down missiles heading to the Jewish state. Time also quotes a very senior Israeli military officer as saying that the meaning of the Obama move is clear: “Basically what the Americans are saying is, ‘We don’t trust you.’”

Earlier this week, there was an article in the Israeli press reporting on a stormy meeting between the Israeli prime minister and the US ambassador to Israel. Prime minister Netanyahu supposedly blew up at the lack of support from Obama with regard to the Iranian nuclear program. Netanyahu reportedly told the US he would hold off on any attack so long as Obama set a cut off date after which both countries would jointly use military force if the Iranian program were not stopped by diplomacy and sanctions. Obama refused. In other words, Obama made clear that his statements about using all options to stop Iran's nuclear program were nothing more than hot air.

Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East. The only country that comes close these days is Iraq. Egypt is sinking back into repression as the Moslem Brotherhood takes over. The elected president is moving towards consolidating power and relegating the millions of Egyptian Christians to second class citizenship. The truth is that in the entire area, the Arabs with the most freedom are the million plus who are citizens of Israel. Supposedly, America supports freedom, but not in this case for Obama. After decades of close support from America, Obama is clearly moving away from the Israelis.

Just a day ago, America said that it did not want to be complicit in any Israeli attack on the Iranian nuclear program. "Complicit" is defined in this way: "choosing to be involved in an illegal or questionable act." Obama's people are describing any Israeli action to defend itself against Iranian nuclear terror as illegal or questionable, but Obama still tells us how closely we are allied with the Israelis.

Obama is nothing more than a pathological liar. Hopefully, the American people understand this. Obama has got to go. Our future as a nation depends on it.
