Obama Cannot Run Away Fast Enough

With the ongoing attacks on American embassies across the middle east, president Obama has been moving away, no running away, from the initial policy response of his administration to the crowds. That response, of course, was the message released by the embassy in Cairo in which the USA apologized to the local Moslems who may have been offended by a you tube video that was apparently made in the USA. Only in the world view of the Obamacrats could there be a belief that militant Islamists would be mollified by such an apology. But the poor policy choices by Obama and his minions did not end with that apology. That was just stupidity on their part, a clear lack of understanding just who the militant Islamists are. The real question that needs answering is how American embassies across the region were left unguarded on September 11th, the obvious day for an attack by terror groups.

Let's be clear. In Cairo, the Egyptian government forces ought to have protected the embassy but they did not; they melted away as the mob approached. Indeed, that move was enough to make a sane person wonder if the Morsi government was complicit in the attacks. But that still does not answer the question. Where were the marine guards of the embassy? How could it be left unguarded by Americans on the one day of the year when an attack is most likely? We are, after all, in the middle of a war on terror, or as Obama likes to call it an overseas contingency action following the man made disaster that was 9-11. Obama may not call these folks terrorists, but that does not change who they are. There should have been protection for the embassy and there was not.

In Benghazi, it gets even worse. There, the attack was clearly carried out by organized terrorists. (I had to laugh this morning as the news reports called them organized "thugs", the "terrorist" label being just too hard to admit.) The day after the attack Obama sent 40 marines to Libya to protect the embassy. THE DAY AFTER!!!! Where were they on September 10th? How many thugs or terrorists would have made it into the embassy to kill Americans if, after they started shooting rocket propelled grenades at the place they were met with a hail of gunfire from 40 marines? My guess is that the Americans would be alive today if Obama had bothered to take care of their defense.

Imagine for a moment what would have happened at an Israeli embassy attacked in Cairo. Does anyone think that the staff would have apologized and then not fought back against their attackers? Of course not. I am sure that those Americans guarding the embassy in Benghazi had to be ordered not to fight back against the armed terrorists. The resulting deaths were not due to cowardice, but to the stupidity of Obamacrat policy.

As far as I am concerned, Obama has blood on his hands here.
