Even More Obama Incompetence -- 2

In my earlier post, I reported the story in the London press that the Obama administration was warned at least two days ahead of the attacks in Cairo and Benghazi that American embassies might be targeted by terrorists on 9-11. As usual, one has to wonder if the report is correct. Well now, there is much less doubt. The Obama administration had "denied" the reports with language that makes clear that the story is true. First, the adminstration spokesman said that there was no evidence of any kind that the attack in Benghazi was premeditated. That was clearly a lie. The spontaneous mob that the Obamacrats talk of came armed with rocket propelled grenades, mortars and rifles. Even in Libya, folks do not walk around with arms like that. Of course, the attack was premeditated. Even the Libyan government says that this was an attack by a terror group which used the cover of a protest to take out the US embassy.

After the initial lie, the Obama spokesman then stated: "We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent." That sounds good until you consider that the report in the Independent said only that the US was warned that its embassies in the area might be targeted on 9-11. No one claimed that the warning specified Benghazi. A denial of a warning about an attack in Benghazi does not deny that a more general warning about all embassies was received. The State Department understands words and their meanings. They know how to deny a story that they received a warning about all embassies. They did not deny it. Instead, we got the time honored Obama tactic of using a straw man. They talk about something that did not happen rather than talking about actual events. It is like Obama telling the DNC that the Democrats are not the party that wants to take birth control away from women. There is no party that wants to do that, of course. But for Obama, his statement leaves the impression that the GOP does want that, so he raises the phony point and then discusses it. That is what the spokesman did here.

It is unforgiveable that Obama had a direct warning that trouble was coming at the embassies and then did nothing to tighten security at those installations. We have four dead and 17 wounded Americans due to Obama's negligence. Obama found time to campaign in Las Vegas but not to deal with the crisis. Indeed, he could not even be bothered to attend the intelligence briefings of the last week. Maybe if he had paid attention, those poor souls who died would still be alive. Their blood is on Obama's hands.
