After president Obama told the press that the janitorial staff at the US Capitol would all be getting pay cuts due to the sequester, the person in charge of that staff, Carlos Elias sent the following email to all of his managers:
"There was a specific mention in the news today by a high ranking official that said 'The employees that clean and maintain the US Capitol will receive a cut in pay' (not specific quote but very close to it). This is NOT TRUE. Therefore, I request that you please notify all of our employees about the importance of ignoring media reports."
So once again, Obama is telling the press things that are "NOT TRUE", as Mr. Elias put it. Of course, the mainstream media reported the "NOT TRUE" information as a pearl of wisdom that came from the tongue of our leader.
Does anyone want to bet whether or not the sequestration cuts in the budget for the Capitol includes laying off Mr. Elias? We don't know that for sure yet, but by now Elias has probably gotten an email from the White House telling him that he will "regret" telling the truth.
