I just saw the video of president Obama talking about extending unemployment benefits at the White House this morning. Obama was standing there with a group of supposedly long-term unemployed Americans. (I say supposedly only because knowing the Obama White House, it is possible that these folks were just paid actors.)
Is it just me, or do you wonder why the unemployed would lend a hand to Obama when he and his policies is the principal reason why there are still so many workers without jobs in the country. Following every other recession of the last 70 years, the country grew the economy quickly enough so that the numbers of people holding jobs quickly recovered to the level prior to the recession. In the Obama recession and recovery, however, we have yet to get back even to the levels that existed prior to the start of the recession. So we have fewer jobs but about 13 million more people during the last five years.
Obama is the reason for high unemployment. If he wants to help the unemployed (which I doubt), he should just reverse course.
