Immigration Nonsense

There's an article from Yahoo News this morning how the arrival of the first troops at the border with Mexico has contributed to a "tense" atmosphere there.  That's the narrative being pushed by the media to say that it's a bad idea to enforce the immigration laws.

So far, what has actually happened is that in a few (very few) stretches along the banks of the Rio Grande in Texas, the troops have installed barbed wire.  Until now, there was literally no barrier at the border, so someone swimming across the river or coming by boat could just come up on the US side and walk off into the country.  That has been a major illegal entry point for decades.  A barrier like the one installed is hardly President Trump's wall, but it certainly is not cause for a tense atmosphere in the region.  Hopefully, it will dissuade illegals from trying to come across the river at that point.

This seems to be a point that the media and the Democrats want to ignore, but there are immigration laws in the USA.  Like other laws, the immigration laws are supposed to be enforced.  That means people are not supposed to be allowed into the country illegally.  It's not a difficult concept to grasp for anyone other than for the pundits/candidates in the liberal bubble.
