As Election Day approaches in Connecticut, I think it is worth it to take a look at the background of the Democrat candidate for governor, Ned Lamont. The simple truth is that he is a loser.
Eight years ago, Lamont tried for governor. He lost in the primary to Dan Malloy.
Fourteen years ago, Lamont ran for senator. Even though he got the Democrat nomination, he lost in the general election to Joe Lieberman who ran as an independent.
The only office Lamont has ever held was as a selectman of the town of Greenwich back in the 1980s. The key about that position is that Lamont didn't win there either. The Board of Selectmen in Greenwich is composed of three people: the First Selectman and two others. The town charter requires that the First Selectman and his running mate get two seats, but the third seat is reserved for the candidate of the losing party. In other words, there is always a 2 to 1 party split on the Board of Selectmen. Lamont got that seat in 1987 by LOSING the election.
So I say again, Lamont is a loser.
