Not So Polite

How's this for a story?  This past week, a synagogue in New York City was vandalized with anti-Jewish graffiti and that act forced the cancellation of an event that was to have taken place at the synagogue that night.  This crime was used by local Democrats to denounce President Trump and Republicans.  Now police have arrested James Polite who was seen on security video spray painting the messages.

Here's the kicker:  Polite is a gay black man who worked with the New York City government to combat hate crimes.  He went to college because he was given a major chunk of the cost by a local Jewish couple who were trying to help him.  His college recommendation was written by Christine Quinn, who was at the time the Democrat head of the NY City Council.

According to reports, there were also fires started the same evening at some Jewish schools and another synagogue.  Polite is on video there committing those crimes too.

We're not certain yet whether or not Polite was trying to make it appear as if there were anti-Semitic attacks in New York that could be blamed on the Republicans or if he was serious in his anti-Semitic hatred.  It's looking like the latter, but the reports don't come to a conclusion.

Once again, it seems that the bulk of anti-Semitism in the US comes from the left.

UPDATE:  Since I wrote the first part of this post, I heard a report on the arrest on CBS radio.  It was a lengthy report for the radio.  I estimate it was 90 seconds long.  CBS reported about the arrest for vandalism and also for arson.  CBS, however, never mentioned that Polite is black, gay or associated with the NY City government.  Nor did CBS mention that Polite worked to help prevent "hate crimes".  That all seems quite relevant to the story in a rational world.  Of course, there's an election in three days, so CBS wouldn't want to ruin the narrative that this was a hate crime that can be blamed on Republicans.  It's pretty hard to do that when the culprit works for a hard left mayor to combat hate crimes.  Either he's a total nut job, or he was trying to stir up anger and hatred directed towards the GOP as some perverse sort of get out the vote move.
