How can they just go ahead blindly?

The new bill on global warming and energy introduced in the Senate from senators Kerry and Lieberman, may be based on junk science. No one knows for sure. this bill would drive up the price of energy in the USA. It would drive up the cost of driving. It would drive up the cost of home electricity. It would make our industries less competative with those of countries like China and India that have no such tax laws. It would cost millions of jobs in the USA over the next ten years. It would reduce economic growth by a substantial amount for the foreseeable future. And yet, it is based upon data and theories that have not been shown to be either accurate or correct.

the main source of climate data around the world came from East Anglia University in the UK. This is the data that was revealed to have been manipulated to show global warming in a manner that indicated a man made cause. No one has gone back to check the data and to publish the results so that others could check this work. Can it be that the new religion of environmentalism is so strong that man made global warming must be taken on faith? Can it be that US senators will really want the country to commit economic suicide in the name of this new faith.

Let's be frank. Neither you nor I know if there has really been man made global warming to any extent at all. We have no way of knowing since we have only bogus data. Yet, we are supposed to accept the destruction of our economy in the name of environmental purity.

If Senators Lieberman and Kerry want this bill to proceed, they should first authorize a crash program by NOAA or NASA or some other appropriate government agency to collect and publish the climate data for the last 1000 years to the extent it is available. If the East Anglis data is so good, then the US government can just follow their lead and amalgamate and publish the data. After that, the public can be allowed to review and critique the data for about six months. Sure, there will be a delay of a year. But at that point, we should have much more of a true consensus answer as to whether or not there really is global warming caused by man.

THIS IS A SCIENTIFIC NOT A POLITICAL QUESTION!!!! Let's act appropriately.
