That only took eight days

In a breaking story, it was reported this morning that Attorney General Eric Holder now believes that the New York fizzle bomber Faisal Shahzad was working in league with the Pakistani Taliban when he set his car bomb in Times Square in New York City. It is certainly amazing that it only took eight days for the facts to break through the spin coming from Obama and the Obamacrats. Remember that on the morning after the bomb was found, we heard that the bomber was probably a "home grown" terrorist (one of those pesky tea partiers probably) -- that from the Mayor of New York who was presumably informed about what was happening. Then we heard laments on the media hoping that the bomber, when found, would not be a Muslim as that would incite bigotry. Then after the bomber was arrested and his name was Faisal Shahzad a Pakistani born natuarlized American citizen, I looked in vain for a news report that mentioned his religion. (don't want to encourage bigotry, I guess). Then the Secretary of Homeland Security finally said that the US was treating the bombing as if the bomber possibly may have worked together with a foreign terror group (she did not use the word "terror" as that is on the White House no fly language list. ) Still, the reports were that Shahzad probably acted alone. Then we heard that the FBI was searching for the courier who brought money to Shahzad to fund the operation. (The left and the blogosphere went wild with stories about how little Shahzad had spent to do his bombing as if this meant there was no courier -- just check Salon.com for some good examples). Finally today, after only eight days, the administration is prepared to admit that Shahzad worked with the Pakistani affiliate of Al Qaeda.

It is worth pointing out that in a video made just prior to the bombing, the Pakistani Taliban tooik credit for the act and that this was available the morning after the bombing. Authorities apparently wrote this video off as the work of a psychic terrorist (sorry - foreign purveyor of bombs) who was wrongfully taking credit for the act.

If Obama and his administration cannot recognize the true enemy in these bombings, how will the USA be able to effectively combat them. Indeed, there is a reason that there have been repeated terror acts and attempts in the USA since Obama took office while there were none that came close to attempts during the Bush years after 9-11. At least once Al Qaeda struck on 9-11, Bush and his people recognized the true nature of the enemy. One has to wonder when the message will get through to Obama and his folks.
