Was it racial profiling?
Mexican authorities announced this morning that they had discovered 55 bodies in an abandoned mine in northern Mexico. The suspicion is that this is a dumping ground for bodies of those killed by Mexican drug cartels. These are the same cartels responsible for the increasing violence in the US just across the border from Mexico. Given the reaction by Obama to the push in Arizona for the federal government to control the border and cut the violence in the area, I expect to hear Robert Gibbs denouce those who found the mine. Indeed, since all of the victims appear to be Mexicans, the administration may denounce this as another instance of racial profiling. It would make about as much sense as their response to the Arizona statute.
