Is the White House selling out National Defense for $90,000?

Just when the news is out that the Obama White House rammed through a questionable loan guaranty to solar panel maker Solyndra which was owned in part by a major Obama donor, we now learn that the Obamacrats also tried to get a four star air force general to change his testimony to congress in order to favor a company controlled by another major Obama donor. For Solyndra, the issue was whether or not Obama put half a billion of taxpayer dollars at risk just to help his fundraiser. It was greed and waste at work. For this new scandal, however, there are much greater stakes. The issue here is whether or not a new satellite broadband product from a company called LightSquared would interfere with the ability of America's defense forces and weapons systems to make use of the Global Positioning System that now guides big chunks of the military. Let me repeat that and explain: the product from LightSquared could interfere with the targeting systems used on cruise missiles, it could cause forces in unfamiliar territory to get lost, it could throw off the navigation of navy ships. In short, the LightSquared product could undermine the effectiveness of the entire US military.

Air Force General William Shelton has confirmed that the White House asked him to change his testimony to Congress in order to downplay the possible threat to the military from LightSquared. Indeed, the White House is not even denying this as of now.

The key here is that LightSquared is controlled by a company whose principal owner gave Obama $90,000 in the last election cycle. That's right, Obama is putting the US defense shield at risk for a $90,000 contribution.

There is much more to this story that will surely come out. The key here, however, is this. When he ran for office, Obama promised to be different than presidents who came before him. In that sense he has succeeded. I cannot remember another president ever who would have undermined our national defense in exchange for a $90,000 campaign contribution. Even at his worst, Jimmy Carter would not have countenanced such a thing. If your views come from the other side of the political spectrum let me say it this way: even Richard Nixon would not have undermined US defense for personal gain.

OBAMA REALLY, REALLY HAS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
