One upping Weiner

Anthony Weiner may be gone, but his spirit seems to live on in his district with the Democrat candidate to replace him, David Weprin. Weprin displays the same conceit that he is entitled to the seat no matter what that was a staple of Weiner's persona. Weprin has been an incredible candidate. Look at the record. Weprin was chosen by the party bosses in his district after serving in a number of party positions over the years. It was "his turn". there was no primary since this was a special election, so Weprin was never forced to go through the vetting process that a primary would have produced. Since being nominated, Weprin has been uncovered as a know nothing political hack. In an interview with the editorial board of the New York Daily News, Weprin was asked about the size of the national debt. Obviously, this is a key issue after the recent months long debate in Congress on the subject. According to the News, Weprin got a "deer in the headlights" look before guessing that the total was $4 trillion. He was only off by about $11 trillion. Indeed, his performance in the discussions with the News was so poor that the News endorsed his Republican rival, Bob Turner. It is not every day that the News endorses a Republican, so this is evidence of just how poorly Weprin did.

But that was not all. Following the debacle at the Daily News, Weprin backed out of the debate that had been scheduled with Turner. Weprin blamed hurricane Irene for this, even though the hurricane had come and gone and all was pretty much back to normal in the neighborhood where the debate was scheduled. In fact, Turner who lives in an area that was evacuated came to the debate, but Weprin hid instead.

But that was not all. News has leaked out that Weprin sent a few of his supporters to pose as college journalists or volunteers at Turner headquarters in order to spy on what was happening there. Weprin does not even deny this but claims that he did not know it was happening. It brings back memories of Watergate.

One has to wonder what Weprin will do for an encore. My suggestion is that if you follow Weprin on Twitter, be on the lookout for pictures of his crotch. This guy is truly a bozo.
