The Obama people (and Hillary Clinton) are making noise because in 2015 the media household income went up 5.2% according to the latest figures released by the government. The people at Powerline had some interesting comments on this figure.
First of all, it really does not make sense. The same report that gives a total increase of 5.2% says that working men had an increase of 1.5% in their income while working women had an increase of 2.7%. Since men and women are all of the people in the average household, there's no way to figure out how overall median income could rise by 5.2%.
I have become something of a cynic when it comes to government statistics from the Obama administration in an election year. Is the 5.2% some sort of election ploy that will be "corrected" in November or December? Someone from the administration had better explain this discrepancy quickly.
